This hike offers us a total escape through one of natures most unspoilt and beautiful landscapes in the world. If you long for wide open spaces far from civilization, camping wild under a blanket of stars, swimming in crystal clear rock pools and hiking a solid 70 km in carefully monitored distances each day - then this adventure, through a 180-million year old canyon, is definitely for you. The days are spent with the same pleasant routine of waking to the beauty of one of the world's wildest and most unspoiled places, having tea and rusks, for breakfast, hiking for a few hours, rest, followed by more hiking and lunch at midday with a swim and rest until it is cool enough to continue the hike. We sleep under the stars next to the river after a good, hot and freshly prepared evening meal.

We meet not later than sunset at The Guest Farm for a friendly Braai and a safety brief in preparation for the hike and the week ahead. We spend our first night in the Guest Farm. If you need help with Transport please ask us.

After a hearty breakfast to sustain you through today's strenuous activity, we drive with 4x4 vehicles to starting point. From here we start walking down to the Löwen River Canyon for about 6 hours to a camping spot in the Löwen River. There is a beautiful well with clear & drinkable water.

Today we continue on the trail and walk over the plateau between the two canyon gorges of the Fish- and Löwen rivers and down into the Fish River Canyon to another camping spot along the natural pools of the Fish River.

Today is only half day, we hike to the confluence of the Fish- and Löwen River and stop at lunchtime. We spend the afternoon relaxing and swimming in the Fish River.

We are sleeping under the stars.

We hike out of the Canyon and the trail leads us back to the Fish River Guest Farm at about noon. We overnight at the Guest Farm.
